Zoe Carpenter, Wyatt Haines take NESS season leads with wins at Stop No. 2

Zoe Carpenter and Wyatt Haines used big wins at the second stop of the Avon Self Storage Northeast Slalom Series to move into the lead in the NESS season standings.

Zoe, currently the No. 3 ranked Girls 1 skier in the U.S., topped Donna Jenks and Erica Choi in NOPS points to earn 30 NESS series points, enough to put her in first place for the year.

Wyatt fought off two other Haineses – his brother Quinn and dad Hutch, who went 2-3, to earn the win – and 140 points – in the largest ever NESS field.

NESS continues with the Twin Lakes Regional Tune-up, July 8-9, in Monroe, NY.  The top 50 percent of the Women’s and Men’s field at the conclusion of the season earn an invite to the NESS head-to-head, cash-prize finals taking place Sept. 2 at Pangaea in Canajoharie, NY.
