Inaugural NESS Finals field set after Stop No. 5 held in Vermont

stop5culmAfter the fifth and final stop of the inaugural season of the Northeast Slalom series took place Saturday in Montpelier, Vt., (results here), the qualifiers for the championship finals have been determined.

Tonya Maurer and Darlene McCormick tied atop the Women’s season-long standings, with Donna Epstein, Skylar Hathorn and Kathy Callan also earning a spot in the finals.

In the Men’s draw, Bob Radimer closed out a dominating season by finishing well ahead of the pack with 230 points.  His nearest competitor, Dan Warner, finished second with 180 points on the strength of great performances at the only two stops he participated in during the season; quite an accomplishment.  Also punching their tickets to the head-to-head finals on the Men’s side were Scott Behner, Bruce Epstein, Hutch Haines, Justin Campfield, Skip Hommel, Theodore Dulos and his brother Petros, and Cole Maurer.

The head-to-head, cash-prize finals will be held Saturday, Sept. 3rd, during the Pangaea 43 tournament at Pangaea Puddle in Canajoharie, N.Y.
